What Happened in Taiwan?
It is not a secret that 6th graders went to Taiwan for a graduation trip. But most people do not know what actually happened there. This article will show the experience of graduating 6th graders in Taiwan.
The students met at the Incheon International Airport on the first day in the early morning. When they were about to ride the plane, everyone was excited and nervous. After arriving, they went to Ke Fu Ban, the place where students study after school. The students gave presents to the Taiwanese students who were there. Then they went to buy some stuff in a nearby market. Many 6th graders bought Taiwanese famous “Nougat Crackers” there. Then they ate “Mala Hotpot” at Ximending. They ate hotpot and ice cream until they were very full. Most of them enjoyed it a lot. After that, they went around Ximending for a bit and visited ‘Presidential Office Building.’ The School Principal, Ms. Juai, thought they would be too tired to go to the playground, which turned out to be not true. When they went to the playground with the principal’s niece, Roo, they met a Taiwanese friend and played tag with her. At night, they came back to Emmanuel church, the lodging place while they were staying in Taiwan. The students had a good day although a little tiring. On the second day, they ate sandwiches and dumplings for breakfast. After breakfast, they went to the National Palace Museum. The most famous thing in the museum is the Jadeite cabbage and the Meat-Shaped Stone. Unfortunately, they couldn’t see the Meat-Shaped Stone. There, each group had a mission and had to solve it. They needed to ask Taiwanese people who worked there randomly to know what was the answer. The next part was the amusement park. It was some students’ favorite part. They rode so many things there: Bumper Cars, Viking, Roller Coaster, Monorail, and so many more! The rides were not as scary as those in Korea, but they were fun and enjoyable.
When the students had to leave, everyone was disappointed. Then they went to ‘Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall’. This was not the best place for some people. Girls and boys got separated, and Jason and Jae went missing. After this, they ate “Xiaolongbao” and beef noodles at a restaurant called Din Tai Fung. Before going back to Emmanuel church, they ate mango-shaved ice and played at the playground for a little. On the third day, they had time with Roo. First, they went to Yehliu Geopark, where they saw many stones and rocks; one of them was a special rock called ‘Queen’s Head.’ Many people lined up to take a picture of ‘Queen’s Head.’ Second, they went to Shifen. At Shifen, they made and flew a Sky Lantern. Third, they went to Jiufen and ate peanut ice cream, fried fish, drank bubble tea, and many other things. They also had a mission at Jiufen. It was finding the price of many things. At Jiufen, it rained a lot so they had to wear raincoats. The principal said she had been to Jiufen several times, but it had the hardest rain she had ever experienced. Lastly, 6th graders went to Shilin Night Market, where they ate delicious chopped stakes, lobster, Tang Hulu, and Ice cream fries.
Although having wanted to go to the playground again, they went to the bed since teachers did not allow it.
On the last day, at 4:40 A.M, the girls woke up to do a mission. The mission was to buy a fruit at a market near Emmanuel Church. The one who gets the fruit faster would get the better prize. After the mission was finished, they went to a restaurant and ate Korean food. People might think that was no big deal, but they should remember this all happened in Taiwan. They then went to the airport and returned to Korea. But their graduation trip did not end. They had some money left, so one day, they might do something more to celebrate their graduation.
